The first look photos of Fifty Shades Darker are here, and things look pretty grey on set. Literally.
Stars Dakota Johnson, 26, and Jamie Dornan, 35, looked decidedly grim-faced when spotted between takes while filming the sequel to last year’s Fifty Shades of Grey. The weather appeared to be as bad as their mood, as the pair sheltered against the rain and gloomy skies under an umbrella while on location in Canada.
Still, it’s hard to believe they can really be that depressed, considering what the pair are being paid to be there. But since the last filmed was horrendously slated by audiences and critics alike, we guess even a huge chunk of money can’t them motivated.
The first flick in the franchise – which are based on the novels by E.L James – made 400 million dollars worldwide but was poorly received, even winning five Razzie Awards.
The awards were for worst screenplay, worst actress, worst actor, worst on-screen combo (going to both Dakota and Jamie) and a tie for worst film with Fantastic Four.
It is no surpise then that the movie’s director Sam-Taylor Johnson decided not to helm the sequel. Instead the second installment is being directed by James Foley.
The Fifty Shades Darker is being filmed back to back with the franchise’s third and final segment Fifty Shades Freed – Fifty Shades of Grey from Christian’s point of view rather than Anna’s.
Let’s just hope the story’s more interesting the second time around…
