Single Mum Becomes Dad For The Day So Her Son Doesn’t Miss Out On School Event

Three years ago, Whitney Kittrel found herself as a single parent. She vowed to do everything in her power to give her kids a ‘normal’ life, and knew she’d go to great lengths to do so. “Trips alone, teaching my son how to play catch, killing bugs with minimal screaming, countless memories, and a normal life,” she writes on her Facebook post, describing her life with her children.

After her son was finished with class at Arrowhead Elemantary School kindergarten one afternoon, he came home with a flyer for the school “dads and doughnuts” breakfast event. “My heart kinda sank,” wrote Whitney, not wanting her son to be disappointed.

The two of them sat and talked. Whitney asked her son if he’d like his grandfather to accompany him instead, though he politely declined. “He just smiled and said, “No. I want you to go. You’re my mom and dad.”

So supermum Whitney quickly concocted an ingenious plan.

“I gathered up my best dad outfit, painted on some facial hair, and went to breakfast with my sweet son. I was so embarrassed but I couldn’t help but smile when he introduced me to his little friends saying “this is my mom… she’s my dad too so I brought her!”

This isn’t the first instance of a mother donning a father’s clothes to make sure that their children didn’t miss out on a school event. Kittrel’s post on Facebook has received an astoundingly positive response, with 9500 plus likes and over 4500 shares.

And it’s more than evident that her son appreciated the gesture, too:

“When I went to leave he ran after me and hugged me tight around my neck and whispered “mom… I know that you’ll always be there and do anything for me. Thank you. I love you” kissed my cheek and ran off. I hope he remembers this day cause I’ll never forget it or his sweet words”

Whilst it can sometimes be difficult being a single parent, Whitney has fully embraced all of the challenges and has undoubtedly achieved supermum status!

Woman Loses Her Memory And Falls For Her Boyfriend A Second Time

This is one of those devastating stories that will most likely be seen in cinemas near you. Not only that, it’s also raising the bar for romance just in time for Valentine’s day.

Jessica Sharman has suffered from epileptic seizures during her life so far. Nothing major had happened to her outside of when these episodes were happening, until March of 2016.

Jessica and her boyfriend Richard Bishop had been together for seven months when they boarded a train to London and things took a drastic turn for the worse. Those close by to Jessica said that her eyes had glazed over, and she had gone limp.

Richard assisted her from the train and her parents were contacted. Upon their arrival, Jessica simply didn’t recognise them. Shocked, her mother showed her a photo album on her phone that Jessica should have been able to recall, though everyone began to realise that the situation showed real significance when Jessica didn’t even recognise her own face.

Jessica was taken to a home that she thought she’d never been to before. “My parents invited Rich over but I didn’t know him and, when they left me alone with him, I was really scared,” she said.

She spent a week at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where she was diagnosed with seizure induced amnesia. According to doctors, it might take up to 6 months for her memory to come back, and pieces of it are still missing today.

Back at home, Jessica began to hate the boyfriend that she could not recall. It only took her two weeks to want to end the relationship.

“He looked so hurt and promised he would help me remember how great we were together. Seeing how passionate and caring he was finally convinced me he must care for me, so I agreed to give it a shot.”

After going on walks together and revisiting their favourite restaurants, and with Richard giving her reminders of everything he could think of about their old life as a couple, things began to change.

“I don’t remember the first time I fell in love with Rich but I do remember the second. He was so patient with me, so sweet, I couldn’t help but fall for him,” she said.

But there was some bad news to come: Jessica was told by doctors that she could lose her memory again. She does, however, show confidence in her boyfriend despite the trying situation.

“Rich was able to make me fall in love with him twice, so I know he could do it again.”

This Teen Received The Most Brutal Job Rejection Text EVER

No one likes being turned down after an interview for a job. But when Megan Dixon – an 18-year-old from Leicester, UK – looked down at her phone to read the text she’d received from her interviewer, she couldn’t believe what she was reading.

After attending an interview at Miller and Carter Steakhouse on Tuesday, a ridiculously harsh rejection text was sent to Megan’s phone just a moment or two after she left.

Shantel Wesson, the branch’s assistant manager, only waited one minute before hitting send on the cruel message.

Brutal! Even if poking fun at Dixon’s language was appropriate, was that a typo or did Wesson really use the word “we’re” instead of “were”? Not to mention the emoji, the use of ‘x’…

Additionally, Dixon described interviewer’s behaviour “so unprofessional” after adding that she thought Wesson was unprepared – the interviewer’s phone would just not stop ringing during their time together.

The tweet has since gone viral. This seems to be rubbing everyone else the wrong way, too.

Despite all of this, management claim that Dixon was not the intended recipient of the texts, and they were not supposed to be unwelcome feedback as they appear here.

“We can’t apologise enough to Megan,” Said a spokesperson for Miller and Carter, “It was never our intention to be disrespectful or upset her in any way. The texts were send in error and were intended for our manager, not the candidate.”

Whether Dixon decides to accept the apology or not is up to her, but we won’t be surprised if “it’s a no x”.

Student Who Burned £20 In Front Of Homeless Man Facing Expulsion Petition

Following a Cambridge University student setting fire to a £20 note in front of a homeless man, a petition has been launched to have him expelled.

A SnapChat video has circulated, showing student Ronald Coyne struggling to set the note on fire while wearing a white bow tie and tails. The camera then panned across to the homeless man he was taunting.

Unknown

Coyne, the communications officer of the University’s Conservative Association has been fired from his position following the outrage caused by his actions.

Additionally, a petition entitled “Remove Ronald Coyne from Cambridge University” has been launched, demanding his expulsion and that he be made to work at a homeless shelter.

Ronald’s mom, Sandra McLaughlin (46) has spoken about the incident, revealing that her son has previously volunteered at a homeless shelter for two years and “felt really bad about” setting the money on fire in front of the homeless man.

“I don’t recognise that behaviour in my son. I don’t really know why he’s done something so thoughtless and cruel. It’s completely out of character. He did two years of volunteering at a shelter homeless shop in Edinburgh. It’s very surprising. We’re just a normal family. We’re not toffs, he’s not a toff. He’s been a hard-working student who is very, very lucky and aware of the privilege he has to study at Cambridge.”

She continued, saying

“It’s been stressful. I’m starting to panic because I can’t get a hold of him. He spoke to us after the event and said he’d done something very stupid and felt really bad about it. He went out a few nights later around Cambridge with one of his friends to do the homeless run and give out tea, coffee and sandwiches to them. He’s obviously known what he’s done himself. It’s baffling. He wasn’t a wild teenager, he was in chess club at school.”

Remember X-Factor’s LUCY SPRAGGAN? Here’s What She’s Up To Now!

In 2012, Lucy Spraggan wowed the X-Factor judges with her quirky original songs and was a firm favourite after her audition, where she sang her song ‘Last Night’, with relatable lyrics about drinking and its consequences.

Lucy made it all the way to the finals, with Tulisa as her mentor, before she had to drop out of the show due to illness. She was too ill to perform in Week Four, so she was put through to Week Five automatically. However, she then bowed out from the show, saying it wasn’t fair for her to get any more free passes as a result of being unable to perform.

So, while many people loved Lucy Spraggan and have kept tuned into what she’s been up to (I know I have), this is an update on what she’s gotten up to since leaving the X-Factor…

TEST: How Well Do You Know Disney Trivia?

Who doesn’t love Disney?

For many young adults it a guilty pleasure to be cuddled up on the sofa or in bed (up to you really) watching some good old fashioned Disney films. Is there any better way to spend a day home?

For many young adults, we grew up with Disney films. They were a constant source of entertainment. Many of these films taught us a lesson. For example, Beauty and the Beast taught us to look for the beauty inside (or go for the man with a huge library). And Mulan taught me that you should help your family no matter what (under most circumstances).

Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and my heroes come in the form of Disney characters.

For a lot of people, their introduction to Disney films was a defining moment in their childhood and helped mold them into the people they are today. So really we have Disney to thank for how we are… Well, mostly.

Disney films have played a huge part in every 90s child’s life, as well as being an influential part of the millennial generation. Admit it, you know at least a handful of Disney songs off by heart.

But the real question is if you’re a true die-hard Disney fan or simply nostalgic about films from your childhood.

Here are 10 questions which only true Disney fans will be able to answer. If you answer them correctly then you truly are a Disney die-hard, but if you don’t pass this quiz, then I fear you may be banished to the Shadow Lands… (Extra points if you get that reference.)

So, will you pass or fail?

TEST: Only Pilots Can Pass This Visual Test, But Can You?

Our vision is an incredible thing. While most of us complain about our eyesight, myself being one, we quite often take for granted the quality of our vision, and the amazing things it does.  Without it, we would be in complete and utter darkness, with no clue as to where we are.

Not only that, but they help us steer clear of danger, and find our way out of a tricky situation. Think about it, how many times have you been saved by the fact that you’ve been able to see the danger? It’s painfully obvious, but it is something we do take for granted on a regular basis.

Good quality vision is key for many jobs and position. If you want to have a certain job, sometimes you need to have an expectional vision which most people don’t have. So, for example, if you wanted to be a pilot or a train driver, you would be required to take eye tests on a regular basis. Not only that, but you would also need to take a visual test, to make sure you can see and spot certain things while at work. For example, people who are color blind wouldn’t be able to become pilots because they need to be able to see a vast range of colors while at work. As strange as it sounds, once you think about all the lights and buttons, it makes sense.

Is your eyesight in tip top condition?

Only pilots can pass this visual test, if you can pass it, then it means you may have what it takes to be a pilot. Why not give it a try and let us know your result in the comment section below.

Also, why not share this test with your friends and family to see if they have what it takes!

TEST: What Kind Of Street Smart Are You?

No one is stupid. We are all smart and have our own measures of cleverness. While you may not be traditionally clever in an academic sense, you may be smart in other ways. You could be street smart, business smart, or smart in a creative capacity.

The idea of being ‘stupid’ or ‘slow’ is old-fashioned and narrow-minded and totally against the world we live in. It’s essentially calling a square peg redundant because it doesn’t fit in a triangle shaped hole.

To many children’s educations are tossed to the side because from a young age we introduce harmful ideas like ‘smart’ and ‘stupid’ into their heads, and don’t go on to explain that there are many different forms of smart. While they may not take to reading like a duck does to water doesn’t mean they’re not bright. They’ll just have potential in other areas.

But, if that smart streak isn’t embraced and encouraged, then how do you expect people to be themselves and acknowledge their ideas. Also, if we disregard people as ‘stupid’ or ‘idiots’ how do you expect them to act any differently? They eventually, and unfortunately become a self for filling prophecy at your own hands.

fish

So let’s find out what areas you’re smart in. Do you have a thirst for knowledge, or do you know how to handle yourself while you’re out and about?

Are you street smart, book smart, business smart, or does your intellect have a creative flare?

Don’t forget to tell us what kind of smart you are in the comment section below and let us know if you think it’s the right answer for you!

Why not share it with your friends and family as well? Let’s see where you get your type of intellect from!

Don’t forget, there’s no such thing as stupid.

TEST: Solving This Simple Math Equation May Mean You’re A Genius

When we were growing up, math class was one of the worst classes on our class timetable. We had to learn how to multiply, adding, subtracting. Stuff that would actually help us in real life. But then we had to learn useless stuff, which to this day I’ve never had to do. Sometimes it really felt like your maths teacher hated children, and that’s probably the reason why they became a maths teacher, so they could torture us with algebra.

We were always asked silly questions about Dave and his apples. ‘If Dave has two apples but he buys four more and gives five away, then how many does he have left?’ It’s enough to make you go crazy.

At common problem with maths is that it emphasises the importance of rules and reason. This made math absolutely boring for most kids.

But every so often we come across puzzles in our life, these require us to use what we remember in school, especially from our old maths lessons. We have a test for you that, even though it has rules, it doesn’t work in the same way a regular math problem does. It’s can be mind-boggling to crack, or the easiest thing in the world to solve. But that all depends on your mindset. Why not give it a try?

If you can solve this in under 10 seconds then you may be a lot smarter than you think.

maths

Straight away you can tell that something is strange about these questions. Normally 8+2=10, it doesn’t equal 16106… How on earth did they manage to get that Their calculator must be off.

But what if the numbers mean something else? To solve this math problem you have to think outside the box.

Instead of panicking about the big answer, simply don’t think about it as one big number but lots of little ones. If that doesn’t help then click on the next page to find how to solve this maths question.
