In 2012, Melissa Dohme was just 20-years-old when she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend in Florida. He attempted to kill her by stabbing her 32 times, leaving her alone in her home to die.
Her ex, Robert Lee Burton Jr., was sentenced to life in prison. Melissa responded by stating “I offer forgiveness and I forgive him,” she said. “Forgiveness is a sign of letting go and when you forgive someone that hurts you, you take away their power.”
The first responder to the scene was firefighter and paramedic Cameron Hill who helped keep Melissa alive until she reached the hospital. It wasn’t until a church event after her long recovery that she met Cameron. The two felt an instant connection and eventually fell in love.
Below is her documentation of recovery and her journey to love.
Here is Melissa before her boyfriend tried to kill her by stabbing her 32 times.
She never stopped fighting and made a miraculous recovery.
She had friends and family by her side the entire time.
During this time she went through several reconstructive surgeries.
Then, at a church event, she met the man who helped save her life.
Disney cartoons are a symbol for all that is pure and good in the world, which is probably why these seriously twisted Disney memes are so hilarious. But beware! They are not for the faint-hearted, and they will definitely destroy your childhood.
Have you ever stayed somewhere where the doors don’t have locks?
For all my anxious people out there, I know this is probably one of your greatest fears. I hate staying places without locks, especially if the bathroom door doesn’t lock. Call me paranoid, but I totally believe I could be the next Psycho victim. Whatever, it could happen.
Anyway, maybe the doors do have locks, but they stick. Or maybe you just want the extra comfort of knowing the door can double lock so you can either escape or grab a weapon (in my case, both) while your boogie man is trying to get in. I mean, who doesn’t like the idea of a little extra safety, right?
Behold. The weirdest, most random, but also pretty awesome, way to lock a door. It starts with a fork. That’s right. Just a plain old dinner fork. Who would have thought, right? But it actually works! The guy in the video explains how to make this ordinary eating utensil into an extra lock on a door. The best part is, you can use it over and over again. You can take it to any place you are staying (it’s not like a fork takes up very much room in a suitcase) and it doesn’t seem to wear down very easily. Plus, forks can be super cheap, so you are hardly out any time or money!
I knew forks could be used for many purposes, in my personal experience, as a weapon or as a garden utensil for my Barbies. I had no idea you could take them out of the kitchen and use them for this, though! I’m amazed!
All you need is a fork, a sharpie or some kind of permanent marker, a vice and a saw. The guy in the video shows you step by step how to make your new door lock. Enjoy!

It’s a rare day to meet someone who doesn’t enjoy a biscuit every now and then. They are so popular in fact, that referring to them by brand is as common as referring to crayons by their colors.
Speaking of brands, we thought it would be fun to see if you could identify what types of biscuits these are based on the images shown. If you love food as much as I do, then you love taking quizzes like this. It’s the best way to boost your confidence, even if it means you spend too much time eating sweets. Whatever, they’re delicious.
