Can you believe it has been nearly 30 years since the classic love story “Dirty Dancing” first hit the big screen.

The now iconic movie starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey was originally a low-budget with no major stars in it. After its launch, people instantly fell in love with it and Dirty Dancing became a massive box office hit.

Believe it or not, it was the first film to It was the first film to sell more than a million copies on VHS.

Not only that, the soundtrack to Dirty Dancing generated two multi-platinum albums and multiple singles, including “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life”, which won both the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Song, and a Grammy Award for best duet.

The main rival he comes across is of course¬†Iceman (Val Kilmer). But Maverick isn’t only competing to be the top fighter pilot, he’s also fighting for the attention of his beautiful flight instructor, Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis). Yes we all loved Kelly!

There were very few boys who watched this movie who didn’t at one point wish they were a fighter jet pilot.
